Cherry Audio - Galactic Reverb

Galactic Reverb is Cherry Audio's algorithmic reverb plugin, inspired by classic hardware digital reverbs, for huge, spacey tails on synths, guitars, drums and vocals in ambient, synthwave and electronic music.

How it works

The algorithm comes from Cherry Audio's Dreamsynth, with decay times up to 35 seconds. Cherry Audio has added modulation, predelay and an EQ, and a ducking function that pulls the reverb down while the dry signal plays, with no sidechain routing needed. It works on mono or stereo sources, as an insert or on a bus.

The sound

Big, lush and deliberately unreal, very much in the vein of the late-80s digital boxes. The ducking is the clever bit: a vocal or lead stays clear and the space blooms in the gaps, or you can use it to flip between bone-dry and enormous tails. It's not designed for realistic rooms, and that's fine. For sci-fi ambience at this price, it's just the ticket.
