GForce MAP is a West Coast-inspired software synth for Mac and PC, built around complex oscillators, waveshaping and FM rather than a classic subtractive layout. It's for sound designers and experimental producers after evolving textures, gritty leads and ambient movement.
The reference points are the 1970s modular pioneers: Serge, Buchla and the experimental scene around them. MAP isn't a recreation of any of them. It borrows the West Coast habit of shaping tone at the oscillator, then adds modern modulation and effects on top. GForce is clear that it has no affiliation with those makers, and the references are there for context.

Three Oscillators, Two Filters
There are three oscillators, one of them a dedicated modulation oscillator, with amplitude, frequency and waveshape all up for grabs. They feed two filters, a five-band resonant EQ and a multimode filter, which can run in series or parallel. A noise source with nine types adds grit or air. The resonant EQ is the unusual part, and it's where a lot of MAP's colour comes from.
XY Pads and Section Presets
The oscillator and filter sections each have their own presets, and each comes with XY pad macros. One gesture can take a patch from a gentle shimmer to something much wilder, which makes MAP good fun to play live as well as to program.
Modulation and Movement
Three looping envelopes, three drawable LFOs and a noise-driven random LFO, all routed through a clear modulation matrix, with MPE support. A polyphonic generative arpeggiator throws out melodic ideas when you're stuck.
Colour, Time, Space
The effects are named for what they do. Colour splits and distorts frequencies, Time is a flexible quad delay, and Space is a granular reverb for big, wide atmospheres.
Who It's For
Ambient, experimental, cinematic and leftfield electronic producers who want something that doesn't sound like another virtual analogue. If you want a classic polysynth, GForce's Oberheim range is the better fit.
