Martinic Pianet T is a modelled plugin version of the Pianet T electric piano, for anyone after a vintage keys sound with more bite and less polish than a Rhodes. It's fully modelled rather than sampled, so every note responds like the real reed mechanism.

The Pianet doesn't use hammers. Sticky pads pull on metal reeds until they snap free and vibrate, and pickups turn that into a short, percussive, slightly nasal tone. It's the sound of a lot of 60s pop and it cuts through a busy mix in a way a fatter electric piano won't. Martinic have modelled both the pickup output and the unplugged sound of the reeds, and you can blend the two.

Pickups and unplugged sound

The electro-mechanical pickup model and a physically modelled unplugged sound run on a two-channel mixer with pan, width, room and volume. A harmonic mix control shapes the pickup tone, and you can set reed decay, mechanical pluck noise and vintage or equal-tempered tuning.

Effects chain

Vibrato and a Pianet N style tremolo both sync to tempo. After that there's a digital chorus taken from Martinic's AXFX, a vintage tube guitar amp with five speaker cabinets, a classic spring reverb and a room simulation. Push the amp and it gets gritty in a very useful way.
