McDSP Revolver is a convolution reverb with the controls of a high-end algorithmic one. It's for engineers who want real spaces and rare hardware reverbs, but still want to shape them properly.
How it works
The preset library includes out-of-production reverbs, rare vintage units and acoustic spaces. You can manipulate the impulse response fully, set positive or negative pre-delay, and use a two-band reverb EQ, a three-band routable EQ, a decay crossover network and two syncable delay lines. A flexible routing system ties it together, and there are tools for building your own impulse responses.
The sound
Realistic, with the character of the hardware and rooms it captures. Revolver shines on film and acoustic work and on vintage plate and chamber sounds. If you want a more creative, lo-fi reverb, FutzVerb is the other way to go.
Native only
Revolver Convolution Reverb is a Native plug-in: it runs on your computer in AAX Native, AU and VST3. There's no AAX DSP version for Pro Tools HDX.
