SpaceBlender

An Imaginary Space Machine

SpaceBlender is an experimental reverb plug-in that allows you to craft unreal and imaginary spaces—shapes, textures, and tones that are otherwise impossible in the real world.

Inspired by the pioneers of ambient music and their extensive use of layered tape loops and delays, SpaceBlender is designed to create massive waves of lush, organic, and evolving spatial effects.

Key Features

Morphing Reverb Shapes

Create absurdly long or short nonlinear spaces and rich evolving textures. Transform simple sounds into dramatic cinematic swells using algorithmic architecture that sculpts shape, density, and spectral evolution in creative ways.

Time Control

Set reverb length from 100ms to 60 seconds. In Sync mode, SpaceBlender locks to your track’s tempo—perfect for ambient loops, frozen tails, or gated effects.

Color and Texture

Dial in darker lo-fi effects or create reverb that grows brighter over time. Adjust the Texture control for character ranging from smooth and lush to sparse and swarming.

Modulation and Freeze

The Mod control adjusts random movement inside the reverb layers—turn it up for smooth, rich, watery textures. Use Freeze to loop SpaceBlender’s output into itself, generating evolving ambient layers.

Interactive Visualizer

The built-in visualizer shows the effect’s shape and timing. Control the reverb envelope interactively by dragging the X/Y cursor in real time.

Versatility in Application

Perfect for cinematic sound design and experimental soundscapes, but just as powerful for everyday music production. Use it on vocals, guitars, synths—anything that needs dimensional depth.

Algorithmic Innovation

Designed by Soundtoys founder Ken Bogdanowicz and sound designer Andrew Schlesinger, SpaceBlender draws on decades of experience. It blends classic reverb inspiration—from the Lexicon 224 to the Ursa Major Space Station—with modern algorithmic experimentation.
