Panorama 7 is a 3D spatialiser for Mac and Windows that places sounds around the listener using binaural (HRTF) processing and room modelling. It works on headphones and, with crosstalk cancelling, on speakers too.

Real 3D, not just panning

Normal panning only moves a sound between left and right. Panorama models how sound actually reaches your ears from a position in a room: the head-related filtering, early reflections, late reverb, distance and even Doppler pitch shift as a source moves. The result can put a sound behind you or above you on headphones, which conventional panning simply can't do.

The position sequencer

New in version 7 is a sequencer that moves the sound along a path of waypoints, synced to tempo if you like. That makes it easy to have a synth circle the listener or create rhythmic auto-pan effects that feel far more alive than an LFO on a pan knob. The panning area is now ten times larger than Panorama 6, and you can view it from the side and rear as well as from above.

Where it fits

Ear candy in a mix, headphone-focused releases and podcasts, stereo widening, and checking how a mix translates. SOFA-format HRIRs are supported for anyone who wants to load their own head models. Be aware that binaural effects are always most convincing on headphones.
