Why Diva deserves its own presets
Diva is about as close to analogue as software gets. It doesn't copy one synth: you pick the oscillators, filters and envelopes separately, each modelled on classic hardware, so every preset is really a decision about which instrument you're building. The 1,200-odd factory patches are good, but they're a showcase. A genre pack makes those decisions for a style of track, so the sound is ready when the idea is.
Factory sound work teaches you to make patches that play well straight away and sit in a mix without a fight. That's the standard these packs are made to.
Which Diva pack is for you?
Synthwave Vol.1: synthwave, outrun and retrowave
64 presets: 22 leads, 16 basses, 16 retro pads and 10 FX. Classic and modern module combinations, with Diva's chorus, plate reverb and delay doing the 80s colour. Every preset has the mod wheel mapped.
Current Trends Vol.1: trance
64 presets: 16 leads, 16 basses, 16 pads and 16 plucks, aimed at modern melodic trance in the vein of Above & Beyond, Cosmic Gate and Ilan Bluestone. Diva gives plucks and leads a warmth and weight that digital trance synths have to fake.
Noize Vol.1: techno
64 presets made with Bristol techno and deep house producer Ian Jay. Deep, minimal and Berlin-leaning, with basses and leads built around Diva's filters for weight and grit.
