Why the Analog RYTM deserves its own sounds
The Analog RYTM is a strange and brilliant hybrid. Every drum voice is analogue with a sample layer on top, it all runs through analogue filtering and drive, and Elektron's sequencer ties it together with parameter locks, trig probability and swing. That's why it's so good at dub techno and anything deep and hypnotic.
It's also why a folder of generic drum samples only gets you halfway. These packs were built on the RYTM itself, so the kits use the analogue engines, the patterns use the sequencer properly and the performance macros are ready to play live. Load a project, hit play and you've got a groove to build on.
Which Analog RYTM pack is for you?
Dublicious: dub techno
Where the dub series started. 120 sounds and 164 WAV samples, all from analogue sources, across 16 kits and 16 patterns with a variation on the last bar of each so they don't loop stale. Deep kicks, fizzy hats, dark resonant claps, dub toms and loopable FX textures.
Dublicious II: dub techno
108 sounds, 16 kits and 16 patterns in one full project, with more use of trig probability. Look out for the 809 kick: feels like an 808, punches like a 909.
Dublicious III: dub techno
120+ sounds, 16 kits and 16 patterns. Vinyl crackle, noisy dub claps and tappy snares, and the most atmospheric of the three.
Analoc Tekno: dub techno and ambient house
116 sounds, 16 kits and 16 patterns, with chords and basslines in among the drums, so each kit is close to a track starter on its own. Macros and QuickPerf are set up on every kit.
Fractious: experimental
118 sounds built from modular noise sources blended with the RYTM's own machines. A snare can be a kick here and a cymbal can be a texture. Industrial, dubstep and glitch are all in the mix.
Fractious II: experimental
100+ sounds, 16 kits and 16 patterns, and further off the beaten track than the first. Synth bleeps, almost-normal kicks, odd percussion and plenty of strange FX.
