Repro-5 Presets & Soundsets

SOUND7 Repro-5 presets are royalty-free soundsets for u-he Repro-5: nine packs covering vintage analogue, synthwave, chillwave and ambient sci-fi, with 64 presets in most packs. They're programmed by Martyn, who runs SOUND7 and designed factory sounds for Repro-5 itself, as well as for discoDSP and Novation.

Why Repro-5 deserves its own presets

Repro-5 is u-he's model of a classic five-voice American analogue poly, built at the circuit level so it drifts, saturates and misbehaves the way the hardware does. The factory library is excellent at showing that off. What it doesn't do is make decisions for a particular style of track, and that's what a genre pack is for.

Most of the character in these packs comes from the parts of Repro-5 that factory patches tend to leave alone: the Tweaks panel, poly-mod, the mod matrix and, on Esoteric Vol.3, modulation sources the manual doesn't mention. Having made factory sounds for it, we know where to look.

Which Repro-5 pack is for you?

The Esoteric series: vintage analogue for any genre

Organic, playable sounds that blur the line between analogue and digital. The broadest range in the store, and the place to start.

  • Esoteric Vol.1: 64 presets, heavy on keys (24), with bass, pads and FX
  • Esoteric Vol.2: 64 presets, more Tweaks panel and envelope work, with leads, pads and plucks
  • Esoteric Vol.3: 64 deep-space presets, with pads themed on the planets
  • Esoteric Encore: 65 presets, huge organic pads, dystopian drones and kooky keys

Outrun Vol.1 and Vol.2: synthwave and outrun

Outrun Vol.1 leans on the LFOs for 8-bit and 16-bit console-style sounds, in the vein of Timecop1983! and The Midnight. Outrun Vol.2 pushes towards neo-retro, with big Vangelis-style pads that sweep up from the depths. 64 presets each.

Chillwave Vol.1 and Vol.2: chillwave and glo-fi

Chillwave Vol.1 is unstable, jittery and soaked in tape sheen, with 23 leads and 16 basses. Chillwave Vol.2 widens the range with more than 30 synth sounds. Pair either with Glo-Fi Drums Vol.1.

The Silence: ambient, cinematic and sci-fi

64 presets that skip the usual leads and basses for atmospheres, textures and otherworldly FX, with the mod wheel set up to bend and twist them. Made with film, TV and ambient work in mind.
