KV331 Audio - SynthMaster 3

SynthMaster 3 is KV331 Audio's flagship modular software synthesizer for Mac and Windows, for producers who want one synth that covers almost every synthesis method going. It sounds clean and detailed rather than warm and vintage, which makes it a natural fit for EDM, trance and cinematic sound design.

Up to 16 layers, each a synth of its own

Every instance holds up to 16 layers, and each layer takes up to 16 modules and 32 modulation sources. Oscillators include basic, additive, vector, wavetable, VAnalog and granular, and a routing view shows the signal flow so you can add, swap or bypass modules without getting lost.

New in version 3

The granular oscillator runs up to 512 grains from a sample, multisample or wavetable, good for evolving pads and textures. The VAnalog oscillator builds waveforms from curve segments the way analogue circuits do, with a sub oscillator and built-in shapes from well-known analogue synths. There's also a waveshaper with 11 distortion types plus a custom curve, a per-voice phaser filter, a formant filter for vowel sounds and a noise LFO for sample-and-hold effects.

Editors, sequencing and presets

Built-in editors let you draw single-cycle waveforms, build wavetables and export them as WAV for other synths, and make multisamples from drag-and-dropped files. Each layer has its own arpeggiator and sequencer with separate MIDI out. It ships with 3,150 factory presets from Arksun, NatLife, Xenos Soundworks and others, and loads SynthMaster One and SynthMaster 2 presets too.
