McDSP - 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip HD

The McDSP 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip combines every module from the 6020 Ultimate EQ and 6030 Ultimate Compressor, adds gates, expanders, saturators and specialist filters, and lets you build your own channel strip from over 25 of them. It's for engineers who want one go-to insert on every track that can still sound different on each one.

Build your own strip

Input and output stages wrap around three module bays. Drag any module into a bay, drag it again to change the signal order, and use the selector panel to audition alternatives on the fly. EQ before compression, compression before EQ, or a saturator into a gate: it's your call.

The sound

With the 6020 and 6030 modules on board, the 6050 covers everything from tube warmth to aggressive solid-state, so one plug-in can give a vocal, a kick and a synth bass three different flavours. It's especially quick for programmed drums, where a saturator, EQ and compressor in one window gets you most of the way there.

HD or Native?

HD adds AAX DSP, so it runs on Pro Tools HDX cards and Avid VENUE S6L live consoles as well as natively on your computer. If you don't have HDX hardware, 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip Native does the same job for less.
