McDSP - EC-300 Echo Collection Native

The McDSP EC-300 Echo Collection puts three kinds of delay in one plug-in: magnetic tape, digital and analogue. Each comes with its own character modes, so it covers dozens of classic echo and chorus sounds. It's for producers who want one delay that can do slapback, dub echo and clean digital repeats.

Three delay types

Magnetic, Digital and Analog each have a set of character modes that change the colour of the repeats. Around them you get adjustable saturation, wow and flutter, output ducking, in-loop filtering and EQ, and input and output level control.

Flexible routing

Run the EC-300 in single, dual or ping-pong modes, and sync delay time to the session or tap it in. Mono, stereo and mono-to-stereo versions are included.

The sound

The magnetic delays degrade nicely as the feedback goes up, with wow and flutter that sound like a tired tape loop rather than a modulation effect. The digital mode is cleaner and more precise, and the analogue delays have the dark, smeared repeats of bucket-brigade units. Ducking keeps it all out of the way of a vocal.

Native or HD?

Native runs on your computer in AAX Native, AU and VST3, which is all most studios need. If you mix on Pro Tools HDX or an Avid VENUE S6L, EC-300 Echo Collection HD adds AAX DSP support.
