The McDSP NF575 is a precise noise filter for hum, buzz, whine and rumble. It's for post-production and music engineers who need to cut a problem out cleanly without touching the rest of the sound.

How it works

High and low pass filters reach slopes of up to 36 dB/oct, and five notch filters can be linked so they track the harmonics of a hum. Link the notches and they move together, which makes it quick to chase a hum and its harmonics, whether it's 50 Hz UK mains or 60 Hz from US gear.

The sound

Surgical and quiet. Mains hum on a guitar DI, camera whine on location dialogue or a ringing resonance in a room can usually be taken out in seconds. It doesn't try to be a broadband denoiser: for that, look at the NR800.

Native or HD?

Native runs on your computer in AAX Native, AU and VST3, which is all most studios need. If you mix on Pro Tools HDX or an Avid VENUE S6L, NF575 Noise Filter HD adds AAX DSP support.
