Lexicon PSP 42 is a stereo delay and phrase sampler based on the Lexicon PCM42, developed by PSP with Lexicon's approval. It's a characterful vintage digital delay that works just as well for subtle doubling as it does for wild modulated echoes.

The PCM42 was a studio favourite for its variable sample rate delay line and the way its limiters and converters coloured the repeats. Version 2 lets you choose how much of that character you want, from a clean signal path through to full emulation of the original's limiters and A/D and D/A converters.

Modes and modulation

Clean, Lims and Full modes sit alongside the Legacy mode from version 1. The modulation section mixes sine, square and envelope detector sources, the LFO can sync to tempo, and four direction modes simulate forward and backward repeats. Delay time goes up to 28.8 seconds depending on the internal sample rate.
