Relab - Q82 Essentials

Q82 Essentials is the streamlined version of Relab's Q82 reverb, a recreation of the Quantec QRS room simulator from the early 80s. It's for producers who want that realistic, natural room sound in a simple, low-cost plugin.

Flagship sound, simpler panel

Essentials uses the same premium DSP as the full Q82, optimised to be light on CPU, with a pared-back set of controls. The Quantec's frequency-based approach is what makes it sound like a real space, and the ever-changing, slightly imperfect character Relab captured from the hardware comes through here too.

Presets

Curated presets are grouped into Room, Chamber, Studio and Club, so you can get a believable space on a track in seconds and fine-tune from there.

The sound

Q82 Essentials is natural and deep rather than glossy. Use it to put dry instruments into a convincing room, to add depth to acoustic recordings, or as a "glue" ambience across a mix. You lose the full version's dual engines, German and US algorithms and Enhance mode, so for detailed depth control, step up to Q82. It's also part of the Essentials Reverb Bundle with LX480 Essentials and REV6000 Essentials.
