Wave Arts - FinalPlug 7

FinalPlug 7 is a mastering limiter for Mac and Windows that combines transparent peak limiting with ITU BS.1770 loudness metering. Use it to push level, or to hit a streaming or broadcast loudness target in one click.

Simple limiting

As a maximiser it couldn't be easier: set the output ceiling, pull the threshold down and the track gets louder. There's a true peak mode to catch inter-sample overs, auto-release, and oversampling up to 8x for a clean result. It aims for transparency rather than colour, so it's the limiter you put on when you don't want to hear the limiter.

Loudness compliance

The MATCH button reads the programme loudness and sets the limiter to meet a chosen delivery target, including both integrated loudness and true peak. There's a preset menu of common industry targets, or you can make your own. Loudness and overflow can be written as automation. For anyone delivering to streaming, broadcast or podcasts, that saves a lot of measuring and re-bouncing.
