Wave Arts - MR Noise 6

MR Noise 6 is a broadband noise reduction plugin for Mac and Windows that sounds good and needs very little tweaking. It removes hiss and steady background noise from tape, field recordings, voice and instruments.

Easy to use

Like most noise reduction, it works in the frequency domain and needs to learn the noise first. MR Noise learns it fast, in as little as 50 ms, and does so automatically when you press play if your track starts with a gap. The defaults work well on most material, so in many cases you just drop it on and the hiss goes.

Clean results

An auto dynamics mode keeps transients sharp while avoiding the watery, "squirrelly" artifacts that cheaper noise reduction leaves behind. Latency is under 20 ms, so it can even be used live. You can monitor just the removed noise to check you're not taking anything wanted, and the noise floor can be edited by hand.
