Cherry Audio - Memorymode 2

Memorymode 2 is Cherry Audio's rebuilt emulation of the Memorymoog, the 1982 six-voice polysynth often described as six Minimoogs in one, for huge analogue pads, brass and basses in synthwave, film and electronic music.

What's new

This is a full rework rather than a version bump. The oscillator and filter modelling has been redone in more detail, and envelopes are more accurate. There's now a dual-layer architecture with two complete 16-voice synths per preset, as a stack or a split. The ladder filter offers the original 24dB and an added 12dB slope, plus a "modern" setting with richer lows and brighter highs and an emphasis compensation option to keep levels steady. Unison stacks up to 48 voices per layer.

The sound

Thick, rich and unmistakably Moog, with three oscillators per voice and that ladder filter doing what it does best. Analogue drift and a multi-voice mode add variation in pitch, pan, filter and envelopes from note to note, so chords feel alive. Expression is well covered with velocity, channel and polyphonic aftertouch, MPE and four touch modulation lanes. There's an arpeggiator, a 16x4 polyphonic step sequencer, chord mode and three independent effect chains with 22 effects. Over 800 presets, including the original factory patches.
