McDSP - Channel G Compact Native

McDSP Channel G Compact is the lighter version of Channel G: a console-style compressor/limiter, four-band EQ and filters, plus models of famous mixing desks. It's for engineers who want a fast channel strip on every track without the full Channel G feature set.

How it works

The compressor/limiter uses high-resolution level detection for accurate handling of complex material, and can sit before or after the EQ. The four-band EQ is based on McDSP's FilterBank, with a wider boost/cut range and switchable shelving or parametric outer bands. High and low pass filters offer 12 and 24 dB/oct slopes.

The sound

Clean and quick, with desk models on hand when you want some console character. It's a good default insert for tracking and mixing, especially on larger sessions where you want the same strip on every channel. For a gate/expander and a fifth EQ band, step up to Channel G.

Native or HD?

Native runs on your computer in AAX Native, AU and VST3, which is all most studios need. If you mix on Pro Tools HDX or an Avid VENUE S6L, Channel G Compact HD adds AAX DSP support.
